Cultural luncheons

The tradition of Cultural Luncheons is the opportunity for people to learn about other cultures through their cuisine. An international member prepares a meal from his/her culture and makes a presentation on aspects of the culture to a mixed American and international audience. As an alternative, Global Connections arranges for a caterer to prepare and serve a meal that represents the culture of a country or region. A presentation by a representative of that area follows the meal. Examples of luncheons held in the past four years include Lebanon, Iraq and Mesopotamia, Myanmar, Brazil, and Colombia.
