Join us on Zoom at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11 as we talk to Hazel Velasco Palacios, State College resident from El Salvador. Hazel will share about herself and her home country, and what it is like to transition to State College to start a Penn State graduate program.
Hazel is a Salvadoran Environment and Development Engineer with a degree from Zamorano University, Honduras. She is currently a master’s student in Rural Sociology and International Agriculture and Development at Penn State. Her research interests are broadly found in the social effects of climate change in Latin America’s indigenous communities. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her friends and Honduran cat.
